My Interview

I went on an interview for a new position at my current job this past Friday. The new position is a Senior Quality Improvement Auditor. Right now I am a Senior Quality Improvement Representative. The new position is in my same department and it's a considered a promotion. I interviewed with 4 people. 3 were from New York and 1 which is my current supervisor in Florida. I am really excited and nervous about the new position. I think I did very well during the interview process now it's just a matter of waiting for an answer. Seven of us in my department had an interview. Theirs was earlier in the week so I had an advantage and already knew some of the interview questions that was going to be asked.

We are expected to hear something back the supervisor over that team and our manager this week. It's definitely time for a new position. I've been with the company for 6 years and my last promotion was in 2009 which is the department I'm currently in now. This is my second time applying for a new position at my job. Hopefully, next class I will be telling you all "I GOT THE JOB".

My supervisor told me today I was one of the top candidates for the new position. That was exciting to hear. If I do get the position, I'm going to give myself 1-2 years to get familiarized with it and then I'll shoot for a supervisor and one day even become a manager. But right now I'm taking it one day at a time. Wish me luck everyone.

Church

Church was awesome yesterday. My daughter and I went to this church in Sanford called Calvary Temple Of Praise. I was referred there by one of my co-workers. From the moment we arrived the choir was on point. Praising, singing, dancing, it was great! I was on my feet the whole time. The preacher was great as well. The sermon was great as well. Have you ever felt like the preacher is talking about you when he speaks? This is how I felt on Sunday. Everything about my life, my romantic relationships, etc. he was speaking directly to me. Isn't that insane! Church was so good I even gave them $10 in tithes and offerings. I normally don't even give that much at one time. I can't wait until next Sunday to go back again.

After church my daughter and I went to my co-worker's baby shower. She is having a little boy on June 30th (scheduled C-section) named Reshawn Jr. "RJ". We arrived at the party very late. It was almost over when we got there but she still got her gift and we still ate some delicious food and cake.

The remaining of day was pretty laid back. I cooked an awesome dinner which included greens, red beans and rice, and baked chicken. Afterwards, I watched the Billboard Music Awards and Married to Medicine until bedtime.

Mother's Day

Let me tell you about my Mother's Day weekend. Friday my daughter (Anniya) drew a picture for me of a flower and underneath wrote "Happy Mother's Day Mommy" " I love you". She also gave me some tea bags from school (vanilla flavor). She is the sweetest little girl. That's my baby! I always look forward to her Mother's Day gifts every year.

Saturday night my boyfriend (Nick) and I went to go see Katt Williams at CFE Arena. I've never been to a comedy show before. The show was supposed to start at 7pm but ended up starting after 8pm. Before he came on three other comedians came on stage and warmed the crowd up. They were hilarious. One (by the name of Red) was actually better than Katt Williams. I use to see him on B.E.T.'s Comic View back in the days. Katt Williams came on after 9:00pm. He was pretty funny. After the show, my boyfriend and I went to Orlando Ale House and ate dinner. The food was okay--could've been better.

Sunday, my daughter and I just hung out. Watching movies on Lifetime and playing cards. Overall, I had fun on my Mother's Day weekend. As long as I can spend time with the ones I love the most, that's all that matters.

My Weekend

This weekend was awesome! Friday night I went to the Prime Outlet in Orlando to buy a Michael Kors purse with my daughter and niece. And I love it! This is my first time purchasing one and I'm so in love with. My purse was $300. And guess what....I don't care. It was worth every penny. I rarely ever buy myself anything. I can't wait to go back and buy another one.

The rest of my weekend was pretty boring. I worked from home Saturday and Sunday. I monitored about 30 calls both days. So far I now have to coach 8 Member Service Reps and I've only listened to 13 representative for the end of the month. The 8 MSR's I listened to got under a 97% for the month. It seems like the more reps I listen to, the more coaching sessions I have to conduct. That's definitely the down fall of over time.

Now that my weekend is over, it's back to work and school (Not that I ever left work anyway). I'm currently sitting in Computer Applications class learning about Digital Device and Multimedia. My teacher is great but I'm ready to go home and chil-lax.

Good Night Everyone!

Show Me The Money!!!

I've been working a lot of overtime at my job lately. We are trying to get caught up on work because we (meaning my department) are behind on monitoring the reps calls. For the past few weeks I've been working 9-10 extra hours per week. This weekend (for the first time) I worked 8am-8pm Saturday and Sunday (from home of course) and plan on doing it again this coming weekend. My goal is to work 53 hours overtime for this pay period. I know, I know you're thinking...who in the h--- would work 8am-8pm especially on the weekend? I would. That's right I said it.

Actually, I have reasons for working so many hours.

1. I'm trying to save money to move out of state next year
2. I have a few upcoming trips I will be taking...which includes going to the Bahamas
3. I have a few upcoming events to go to in the Orlando area (Katt Williams comedy tour, etc.)
4. And, I just LOVE MONEY

Now, I'm not sure how long the overtime will last but I will "work it" until the wheels fall off. I know that was corny...DON'T JUDGE ME! Just Show Me The Money!!!

Weekend Highlights

I had a pretty good Easter weekend. I just watched t.v. all day because I was off from work on Friday. I also ordered food from Red Lobster (my favorite restaurant) and eat like a pig. I heart seafood. Have you ever had the Admiral's Feast from RL? It is sooo delicious!!! Its the only dish I order from them.  Hmm Hmm Good.

Saturday my daughter and I got our hair done. She wanted the hairstyle by Jackie Laura from Monster High. Basically, she got her hair braided into a bun on the side. She looks so cute. That's my baby. I just got my hair flat ironed but it looks a mess now since I've slept on it the last 2 nights.

Sunday I was supposed to go to church but didn't. My boyfriend was late coming to my house which made me late heading to church. I didn't want to be disrespectful and walk through the church doors with everyone looking at me because we wouldn't been on time. So, I just decided to cook an excellent dinner and let my daughter go Easter egg hunting. I cooked greens, baked beans, ribs, potato salad and to top it off----NOT YO MAMA's BANANA PUDDING. OMG sooo good!!!

Bahamas Trip 2014

My sister Letitia and her friend came up with this idea to book a Bahamas Cruise for my father's 80th birthday from July 12th-14th which leaves out of West Palm Beach. I thought this was a great idea because we only paid $33 for a 3 day 2 night cruise but we've encountered all these problems with the cruise line since booking the trip. Let me start by telling you that my sister originally told me that the port fees were going to be $65. Then, once she called the cruise line they informed her the port fees were $118 for two people ($59 per person in 1 room). After finding this out, I asked my boyfriend if he wanted to go (no I didn't initially invite him). Last Thursday I paid our portion of the port fees.

Keep in mind-we have 12 people in our party. So, while paying the port fees over the phone I was told by one of the agents that we have "bunk beds" as our accommodations (really!!!!), my boarding time is 12pm-3pm, I would get my tickets in the mail 3 weeks prior to my sail date, fuel charges are $24 for the 2 days, and the parking is $30 for the 2 days. When I spoke with my sister she told me something totally different. They told her the boarding time is from 12pm-4pm, fuel charges are $96, the parking is $50, and we had to pick up our tickets in Fort Lauderdale the same day we leave out.

I'm really debating if I want to even take this trip now. It sounds like a headache and a half. I really hope its even worth going or somebody is going to be paying me ALL my money back. I'm not even playing.
